COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER
This position requires experience in communication and/or signal processing, preferably both. The work involves algorithm development and communication signal processing of commercial waveforms such as cellular and digital television. We will be developing a non-GPS prototype for this system which will eventually move to a mobile design.
- Develop algorithms for the demodulation and processing of commercial signals
- Using Matlab, simulate of the performance of algorithms and navigation system
- With the open source GNU radio software defined radio (SDR) platform, code these algorithms and produce a working prototype
- Test performance of navigation system
- Assist in the proposal development for other research projects
DESIRED BACKGROUND
- Experience in R&D projects is highly preferred whether in industry or academia
- Basic knowledge of communication and/or signal processing is required
- Working knowledge of Matlab and C/C++ required
- Completion of a digital communication class is preferred
- RF communication knowledge at the system or component level is preferred
- Experience with GNU Radio is a plus
EXPERIENCE
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or in a closely related field
- 2+ years work experience is preferred
