RF Engineer (RFPA)
RF ENGINEER
This position requires 3+ years of experience in RF systems design, development, and test. The candidate must have experience developing RF hardware in the 300 MHz to 3 GHz frequency range. This includes both transmit and receive functionality. Additionally, RF power amplifier (PA) design experience is desired. Of particular interest is experience with switching class E RF power amplifiers. The candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Design RF receive and transmit hardware: power amplifier based design, feedback design, etc.
- Specify particular components and simulate performance with advanced development tools
- Design prototype board layout, interfaces, etc.
- Develop test plans and requirements
- Following design and fabrication, test boards to ensure that they meet specification
- Work with communication and DSP engineers to optimize performance of RF design
- Assist in the proposal development for other research projects
DESIRED BACKGROUND
- Experience in R&D projects is highly preferred
- Significant experience with advanced EDA tools such as Agilent ADS or AWR Microwave Office
- Experience in RFIC/MMIC design
- Working knowledge of Matlab is desired
EXPERIENCE
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or in a closely related field
- 3+ years work experience is required
